The Rain

I wake up and watch the clouds go by
I can’t help but sit there and smile
I hope I am wise with my free time
Instead, I keep sitting there letting the breeze go through my hair.
I watch the shapes the clouds change and create- a heart, an elephant, a flower, a snake
I can’t tear myself from the show
The clouds of many colors dancing around as the wind blows
The clouds get thicker and darker as the rain sets in.
Safe inside behind a window, the pitter patter begins.
The clouds continue to dance as they release the raindrop towards the ground
Sprinkle to downpour to sprinkle again.
The rain dancing between the breeze blowing them.
The smell of freshness fills the air as the downpour starts again.
Clapping of thunder adds to the sound of the raindrops swirling around
I close my eyes and to enjoy the music
Unique instruments only nature can play
The exquisite sounds we take advantage of each day.
I am sitting still listening to the change of beat.
I open my eyes to watch the band
They are playing in harmony while doing their dance.
As the rain slows down and the clouds drift away.
I get myself to start my day.
