Book Craving

We all have our own weird cravings.  One of mine is I crave books I want to read.  I have a hard time finding books that catch my attention and pull me in these days.  I don’t know if my taste has changed or has the books being written these days.  I go back to older books that I have read already.  I always enjoy reading self-improvement books or business books.  But I want to sink into a good story book that I can’t put down.

I recently filled my craving by re-reading The Shack by William P. Young.  I am now craving to re-read the classic The Odyssey by Homer.  When I was younger I used to have a five pack of mystery books. Three were called something about 2-minute mysteries by Donald J. Sobol, one was a book of 5-minute mysteries by Michael Avallone Scholastic Paperback, and the last was Mini-Mysteries by Julia Remine Piggin.  I just wonder if I could actually solve them now that I am older.

I want to find new books to read that have me play a movie in my head while I read the paper book in my hand.  (I am not a big Kindle fan).  I would love to lose track of time because I was so into a book with the suspense or thrill keeping me reading word after word.  I want to add to my crave list for the future of must re-read books.

Do you have a book or two that you love reading over and over?  Maybe you are finding something new during each read.  Maybe you just enjoy the message or the storyline.  Maybe it touches your heart.  Maybe it makes you cry.  Or maybe it’s just a good book and you don’t know why, but you love reading it again and again.
