Promoting

I have a hard time trying to figure out how to promote my books or even my website.  What will get people’s attention?  What will perk the interest to pull them to read the books I so enjoyed writing?  It took me stepping out of my comfort zone to get me to post the books, especially the poem books.  That should be the hard part.  So, why am I having a hard time promoting. 

                  I already know part of the reason. There are a lot of competition for books.  Not only are there thousands of books, but there are a variety of other things to do.  Should I read a book?... but I do have that game on my phone.  I could read or I can play video games.  It is hard to get anyone to pick up a book these days.  A lot of people like to listen to book audio books because their lifestyle doesn’t allow them to sit down and read.  However, most new writers like me can’t afford that expense.  So, how do we get noticed?

                  I am not a good salesperson, am I?  I have paid for assistance before, but from one person I saw nothing and the other helped short term, but very costly.  That person was willing to give me discounts, but it was still too much for me.  I know it’s expensive on their side to get things done.  I respect them for all they did for me. 

                  I have been trying to learn how to do my own SEO stuff.  As funny as it sounds from a writer, I have a hard time with writing descriptions about the books.  I never know what to say or the best way to describe it.  I need to read on it to get better.  For promoting, I have no clue.
